Why Calibrate

Calibration is the process used to maintain the accuracy of any device that provides a measurement within an acceptable range. The calibration process generally involves using the device to test samples of one or more known values called “calibrators or standards”. The results are used to establish a relationship between the measurement technique used by the device and the known values. The process in essence “teaches” the device to produce results that are more accurate than those that would occur otherwise.

Calibration also adjusts the readings to account for dust and particles that may accumulate on the sensor in addition to normal drift. To keep your valuables protected as best as possible, we recommend calibrating the Safe & Sound sensor every 12 months. The sensors drift far less than a traditional hygrometer, yet each sensor is unique and proper calibration helps improve the accuracy of the readings.%
